SANFRANDISCO @ PRIDE 2003:

DJ Sanfrandisco will be teaming up with DJ Jola for a DJ set at this year's Toronto Pride festival! Please drop by if you can! Here's the details:

SAWA (Philippine Students Activists Workers Artists) is organizing a showcase of Philippine Art and Culture at Pride Toronto’s Community Café on Saturday June 28, 2003.

The event is called HALO-HALO! (Mix-Mix!) and features the dynamic DJ team of Jola & Sanfrandisco, hot performances by the Tibos/TomBoys from Pardz Nite, awesome Arnis Martial Arts Demo by COMBAT SCIENCE, and cultural music and dance performances by the glamourous Galaxy Girls.

This is a free, outdoor, all ages, alcohol-free event and everyone is welcome to attend. Join us from 6:30 to 9:30 PM at the Pride Toronto Community Café located in the Paul Kane Parkette (just east of Wellesley subway station) on the North side of Wellesley Street between Church and Yonge.

This is the first Philippine Arts Stage at Pride Week - an annual festival and parade of national significance. Pride Week events serve as a venue for the cultural expression of Toronto's LGBTTIQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, transsexual, intersexed and queer) community and provides a strong and visible public presence to each other and the world. The theme for 2003 is “3D” Diverse! Defiant! Divine!

SAWA is a Toronto-based non-profit organization that promotes Philippine arts, culture and progressive politics based in Toronto.
